This is a ride from Ballan to Lara through the Brisbane Ranges, visiting the historic gold mining town of Steiglitz. The general tendency of the ride is downwards, from Ballan at an enormous 530 m to Lara at 30 m. This is possibly the easiest 70 km you'll ever ride though there are some undulations between Stieglitz and Anakie.  It's all on sealed roads apart from the section from the lookout to Steiglitz, but it's good quality unsealed road.
